This is an INTENSE, FAST-PACED, one-day comprehensive review of Emergency Nursing designed for those nurses preparing to take the CEN Certification Examination, as well as for those nurses interested in updating, enhancing and expanding their knowledge base in clinical emergency settings as well as acute care units.
This course will review important content areas which have consistently appeared on exams in previous years. Sample questions will be analyzed in order to strengthen your ability to answer questions correctly. This course will improve your performance on the CEN exam!
Topics Include:
Cardiovascular Emergencies: Shock, Myocardial Infarction, Hypertensive Crisis, Congestive Heart Failure, Cardiac Trauma.
Neurological Emergencies: Neurological Assessment, Increased Intracranial Pressure, Cerebral Hemorrhage, Head Trauma.
Gastrointestinal Emergencies: Pancreatitis, GI Bleeding, Abdominal Trauma.
Respiratory Emergencies: Respiratory Assessment, Pulmonary Embolism, Acute Respiratory Failure, Tension Pneumothorax, Status Asthmaticus, Respiratory Trauma.
General Emergencies: Gynecological, Poisonings, Burns, Compartment Syndrome.
Alterations: Fluid, Electrolyte, and Acid Base Alterations.
Trauma: Facial trauma, multiple trauma.
Seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.
